Lordy, gift guides take work. Funnily enough, I’m not much of a shopper, but I value curation and anything that saves me time or sparks ideas. There’s a good mix of old and new, small and big.

GIFT A FRIEND AN ANNUAL DEVOUR SUBSCRIPTION.
Cook something: granola, cookies, candied nuts, jam, chutney, curd, caramel… Maybe write out the recipe. One time, I turned up to a friend’s house with the batter for Madeleines already made and a greased Madeleine tray. So all they had to do with fill and bake.
Create a playlist.
Pass on a favorite 2025 book you loved. The more dog-earred and coffee stained the better.
Offer to babysit.
Send a letter, text, photo, voice message, or email telling someone what they mean to you, or just make them laugh, or take them down memory lane.
Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
Ned’s school is doing a food drive for a local food pantry. Canned goods, pasta, cereal, rice, etc.. Fill a box and drop off.
My friend Joanna recently hosted a sandwich train. 100 PB&J and Turkey & Cheese sandwiches were dropped off at a local pantry. Chip in for the cost of groceries or donate your time to assemble.
If there’s a cause that’s close to your heart: animals, supporting families, protecting the planet, or helping your own community, now is the time to give.
